Capabilities

Vision provides products and services for defense, aerospace and industrial applications. Our core technical personnel average over 18 years of experience in this area. As a company, we concentrate on four (4) core areas of expertise: Advanced Imaging and Sensing Products and Services; Optical Data Collection and Analysis; Modeling and Simulation for Design and Analysis; and Pointing and Tracking Systems.

Advanced Imaging and Sensing Products and Services

Design, development, fabrication, testing and deployment of electro-optical sensing systems, both imaging and non-imaging. This includes imaging systems in UV through LWIR wavebands for basic research, applied research and advanced demonstrations.

Optical Data Collection and Analysis

Data collection in laboratory and field environments. In the laboratory, our personnel have experience with material and sensor characterization, calibration and validation. In the field, we have collected data at nearly all the major U.S. test ranges. Our personnel have deployed systems via land, sea, and air to both CONUS and OCONUS locations. We have tracked: weapons projectiles (including Rail Gun); missiles; satellites; manned and unmanned aircraft; ground vehicles; and boats. The calibrated data we collect is used for R&D, M&S, and engineering analysis.

Modeling and Simulation for Design

Modeling and simulation for system design, mission planning, data analysis, and training. Vision uses a combination of off-the-shelf M&S codes, custom M&S codes and in-house developed M&S applications. Additionally, modeling and simulation are an integral part of our quality control and Verification and Validation (V&V) processes. Through modeling and simulation Vision is able to evaluate if a proposed approach or solution is viable.

Pointing and Tracking Systems

Vision utilizes a modular approach to pointing and tracking systems. This allows for quick and efficient construction of a customized data collection system based on a customer’s unique requirements. Our prescription is to use a standardized gimbal and gimbal control system, with a selection of optics and sensors. System configuration is developed using our modeling and simulation tools, and our substantial subject matter expertise and experience. Systems are integrated using our modular, in-house developed software. This software includes our: Precision Mount Control System application (PMCS); Digital Video Recorder application (DVrecorder); Digital Video Tracking application (DVtrack); and other custom software based on our library of C++ and LabView code. Tracking systems developed and operated by our personnel have been deployed throughout CONUS and OCONUS in support of operational and RDT&E objectives for the Navy, Army, Air Force and MDA.
